John 15:7 reminds us that lasting fruit doesn’t come from hustling harder — it comes from abiding deeper.
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
— John 15:7
When you’re building something God has placed on your heart — a business, a ministry, a dream — it’s easy to slip into doing instead of dwelling. You want to see progress, fruit, results. But Jesus reminds us: fruit comes from abiding, not striving.
To abide means to stay connected — to remain in His presence, depend on His wisdom, and allow His Word to shape your steps. It’s the posture of someone who knows that growth doesn’t happen by force but through faithfulness.
Here’s what that can look like in your daily life and your work:
1. Stay grounded in His Word.
Every strategy, idea, and next step begins with listening. When Scripture abides in you, it becomes your compass. It helps you discern between what’s good and what’s God.
2. Keep the conversation open.
Prayer isn’t an event — it’s a rhythm. Invite Him into the small moments: before the meeting, during the pause, while drafting the email. Abiding looks like partnership — not performance.
3. Walk in obedience, even when it’s quiet.
Sometimes abiding feels still. Fruit doesn’t appear overnight. But every small “yes” builds trust — and trust keeps you close to the Vine.
4. Rest in what you can’t control.
Abiding frees you from the illusion that everything depends on you. When you rest, you remind your soul: “God is still working, even when I’m waiting.”
The more you abide, the more your desires begin to align with His. And that’s when your prayers shift — not toward what impresses people, but toward what pleases Him.
Abiding is where peace lives, wisdom flows, and fruit grows.
And if you stay connected, you won’t have to chase results — they’ll come as a natural outcome of remaining rooted in Him.
Reflect & Realign
As you think about what it means to abide this week, take a few moments to sit with these questions:
Where in your life or business have you been striving instead of staying connected?
What does it look like for you to invite God into your daily decisions — not just the big ones?
Is there an area where obedience feels slow or quiet? How might God be shaping fruit beneath the surface?
What practices or rhythms help you remain aware of His presence when you’re working or planning?
If your business were a branch on the Vine, what kind of fruit would you want it to produce — and who would it nourish?
End your time by asking the Lord to help you stay rooted in Him — not in outcomes, metrics, or momentum — but in His steady presence.
Because when your roots go deep in God, your work naturally bears fruit that lasts.
