The Table
I started my first business in 1995. A nail salon in New York. For years, clients sat across my table while I held their hands. They talked about their nails. Then they talked about their lives. The dreams they couldn’t shake. The business they kept thinking about. The thing they believed God had put in them and couldn’t find the courage to pursue. I heard it over and over again.
And then I watched most of them go home and do nothing.
The dream was real. They were capable. The risk felt bigger than the calling. Looking foolish felt worse than staying stuck. Failure—real, public, embarrassing failure—felt like something they couldn’t survive.
That broke something in me. And it still does.
The Long Way Around
Because I know what it feels like to carry a calling you’re not sure you’re qualified for.
It took me years, longer than I’d like to admit, to truly understand what I was called to do. Years of trying things that didn’t fit. Years of building on ground that wasn’t ready. Years of losing parts of myself by not fully being who God created me to be.
When the clarity finally came, I realized the work I’d been skipping wasn’t optional. It was everything. I had been trying to build before I was ready to understand what I was building.
That changed the way I see the work of building a business. The foundation comes first.
Why Daredream Exists
I believe God has a specific assignment for every person, including you. He prepared it in advance and placed it in you on purpose. It’s still waiting for your yes.
The first step is slowing down long enough to discern what’s been stirring in you and what God is asking you to build.
I also believe the heart work has to come before the hard work. Before the strategy, the offer, or the launch, you need space to understand who you are, get clear on what you’re building, and decide why it’s worth the cost.
That foundation changes everything that comes after.
